PayIt launches digital cash payment feature for state and local government agencies

The County of Cabarrus, North Carolina is the first agency to deploy the new feature to residents.
Residents will use the online service to generate a unique barcode, and then pay bills, fines, and fees using cash at a network of more than 70,000 retail store locations. This addition of cash payments with PayIt’s omnichannel solutions, including IVR and POS, ensures a comprehensive yet flexible payment experience for both customers and agencies.

The cash payment feature enables the 63 million unbanked or underbanked Americans by offering them an equally convenient means of transacting with government agencies. Residents who choose to pay with cash retain the benefits of an online experience, including access to transaction history and a GovWalletTM to store receipts and documents and manage bill reminders and notifications.

Residents can pay at retail locations with expanded hours of operation, such as Walmart and CVS.
