Oklahoma adds boat and outboard motor registration renewals to myoklahoma

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma — May 21, 2020 — The state of Oklahoma has announced a new service to their innovative, online solution – myOklahoma – that allows residents to renew their boat and outboard motor registrations.

myOklahoma, created in partnership with GovTech leader PayIt, was launched earlier this year with the goal of consolidating and delivering multiple government services in a single place. Available on desktop, mobile and through the app, myOklahoma is providing a modern and easy-to-use digital government experience for Oklahoma residents.

In addition to renewing boat and outboard motor registrations, myOklahoma allows residents to renew their vehicle registrations and order copies of their birth certificates. myOklahoma users are able to renew multiple vehicles and boats at the same time, saving several trips to their local government office. Oklahomans can also securely store valid, digital copies of their vehicle and boat registrations right on their phone.

“This is just one example of how we are continuing to better serve the residents of Oklahoma. Our vision to digitize as many government services as possible to make Oklahomans’ lives easier is coming to life,” said Kevin Stitt, Oklahoma Governor. He continued, “myOklahoma will only continue to grow. Helping our constituents is why I got into public service in the first place.”

Oklahoma residents were able to begin renewing their boat and outboard motor registrations on May 1, with June 30 being the deadline for renewal registrations. To renew a boat, Oklahomans must have the last four digits of their hull identification number (HIN) and registration number. For an outboard motor, the last four of the serial number and decal number are required.

Innovations like myOklahoma have benefited residents tremendously by alleviating in-office wait times and calls to government support staff. The state plans on adding additional services to myOklahoma in the future in the continued pursuit of improving the lives of residents.

“PayIt’s ease of implementation and the AWS GovCloud technology, which backs our platform, enabled our partners in Oklahoma to securely launch this new service right into myOklahoma with no interruption,” said John Thomson, founder and CEO of PayIt. He continued, “myOklahoma will continue to grow and serve the residents of the great state of Oklahoma. We’re thrilled to be part of their digital government transformation.”
